Amish Workbench
While our family was traveling to visit some friends, we stopped along the way in Shipshewana, Indiana, an Amish community, to do a little touring and browsing. As we were going through Davis Mercantile, I happened upon this old Amish workbench on display on the top floor. It apparently had been used to help build the large timber-framed structure that DM is built around.
Look at that tail vise! I assume they had the bench turned facing against the railing to keep curious woodworkers (ahem) from playing with the vise too much. :)
